Athletic Program & Extra-Curricular
QGA recognizes the important of developing well-rounded individuals – and sports are a crucial contributing factor!
Our athletic program requires each student to participate in weekly sports, whether that’s swimming, hockey, Martial Arts, Zumba, or basketball. Anything that gets the body mooooving!
QGA’s trilateral athletic program is designed to help our students develop the characteristics needed to succeed in the world today. Every Friday our students have the privilege of partaking in Martial Arts lessons in addition to Zumba and Meditation sessions.
For part of the school year, QGA students are required to partake in swimming lessons at the YMCA. YMCA’s instructors assess each students’ swimming experience and places them in the appropriate swim level. Students also participate in a wide-variety of sports in the YMCA gymnasium, including volleyball, ball hockey, soccer, badminton, etc.
Every Friday, as part of QGA’s athletic program, students partake in Martial Arts lessons to help develop the focus and discipline we want to foster in our students. We have also introduced Zumba & Meditation sessions on Fridays alongside Martial Arts.

Read More About Lego Robotics
Lego Robotics is a club designed to introduce students (grades 1-8) to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts while exciting them by working with a brand they know and love – LEGO. This club opens doors into robotics and engineering-related fields. Students that are starting as early as Grade 2 are able to partake in group activities that focus on real life simulation sets. By participating, students will be able to tap into the creative and engaging side of their brain.
This club will prepare the students (grades 5-8) for learning robotic mechanisms and understanding how coding works in droids. In addition, will be an excellent precursor for them when entering high school, as they will be more exposed to learning concepts in robotics and circuits.
There are multiple types of Lego robotic technologies that they will have access to, such as: Lego building structures, circuit snaps (understanding how circuits are built and creating circuit structures to conduct audio, kinetic and sound movements), and assembling and operating droids. These STEM structed activities will engage the students’ thinking and open them up to endless possibilities in engineering and statistics.
